In canon, Feferi is the empress to be, the heiress to Alterian rulership. For a troll who lives in a tyrannical society, in many ways she isn’t different from a “normal” troll. Feferi is a bubbly and kind girl; she gets EXCIT---ED easily and uses a lot of fish puns, even if this is mostly because she is a sea troll. Feferi is also very optimistic, even when faced with such tasks that she had to do for most of her life, which was taking care of her nightmare of a guardian, her lusus, Gl'bolgyb. She had to keep her happy and make sure that her voice never went above a whisper; otherwise it would kill everyone in the universe except herself and the Empress.

As mentioned before, Feferi has a very excitable personality; she seems to have endless optimism. Feferi’s typing even shows her excitement and offers states how EXCIT---ED she is. Even when faced with downright horrible things, she still sees the bright side of it. For example, when both Karkat and Jade are confronted with horrorterrors, they are both frightened by the experience; on the other hand, Feferi believes that it isn’t so bad once you get to know them. This probably comes from her experience with taking care of her lusus, the emissary to horrorterrors. Even when it comes to the end of the world, Feferi can still seem optimistic about this; she was extremely excited to play the game SBURB. Feferi found this to be new beginning. She abdicated her place on the throne, then dumped her moirail, Eridan. Feferi had gotten to the point that she could not handle emotionally carrying Eridan anymore. Feferi’s endless optimism still shows even after the trolls failed to collect their prize and had to hide away from Jack Noir with no hope. Feferi spends most of her time with Sollux in Gamzee’s horn pile, still seemingly happy, even after her dreamself is killed. These examples all prove how no matter what Feferi is faced with, she able to use these situations to her advantage and make good of them.

She treats all the trolls equally and she doesn’t judge based on blood colour. she does not have the same air as the bluebloods do, even though she is of the highest rank in troll society. She also insists that she is no better than any other troll, showing that Feferi is selfless and kind. For example, after the trolls run from Jack Noir and hide on the meteor, Feferi spends a lot of her time with Sollux, who she eventually becomes matesprits with, (this quadrant is the equal of human love) even though he is a mustard blood which is a much lower rank. She does not judge him based on his blood. What she also wanted to change within troll society was the definition of “culling” - instead of meaning to slaughter, she wanted to change it to caring for the weak and infirm. Feferi started doing this by turning her hive into a wildlife facility, which she used to care for aquatic hoofbeasts and cuttlefish. On the other hand, the cuttlefish and aquatic hoofbeasts may not exactly need taking care of. Feferi’s kindness obviously shines through with her intentions of wanting to make Alternia a better place.

Feferi can also be quite weird at times. Not only because she finds the horrorterrors to be alright, but also from the way that Feferi dresses. Most trolls seem to wear just dark or dull coloured clothing. On the other hand, Feferi has very colourful clothes. All of her jewellery is very colourful, and her skirt is blue and green, which means that she stands out more compared to the rest of her troll friends.

She also stated to Jade, “Hey! We're the aristocracy. We've got a duty to be weird.” For Feferi she believes it’s her duty to be weird; she understands and accepts her own quirkness and isn’t ashamed of who she is. She knows and accepts how she is different from the rest of the trolls, this reflects on Feferi’s character and that she does recognize her own weirdness.

Even though Feferi is very sweet, she does have a nasty side to her. Of course being the next in line obviously doesn’t mean Feferi will be all sunshine and rainbows, she does have a backbone. Not only has she openly mocked Eridan, but she also pretended to be upset to get back at Vriska. Vriska even recognises Feferi’s mean side - which says something, because in the the group, Vriska is known to be the “bitch.” Feferi’s mannerisms can also come off as rude and offhand even though she does have good intentions. She also can be underhanded at times and can be quite sneaky as well. Her mean and insulting side makes even more of an appearance when she is dead; going so far as calling Jade Harley an idiot and a retard for not knowing what a lusus was.

Feferi was born into the Peixes family, a prestigious family in the south of England, along with her twin sister Meenah. When Feferi and Meenah were only two years old, her mother, Constance left them to be taken care of by her Feferi’s grandmother, Gloria. Constance was a workaholic who rarely visited Feferi and Meenah, so Feferi never really did get to know her mother growing up. Because Constance never told Feferi or Meenah who their father was, he wasn’t in the picture. Feferi tried her best to never dwell on why her mother was never around or who her father was; she knew what her mother was like and knew her mother had reasons for not telling her such things.

As mentioned before, she was raised by her grandmother. She loved her grandmother and learnt a lot from her, since Gloria was not only famous in the wizarding world but also in the muggle world. This meant Feferi got to learn both worlds at a young age, and her grandmother taught her to respect everyone she met, no matter what their background was. Her grandmother also taught her that being a Peixes and a pureblood means that a very high standard was expected, and by the time she would enter Hogwarts, she would be expected to excel, like every Peixes had before her.

Feferi spent most of her childhood looking after Meenah, who would usually spend hours away from home, getting into fights with Muggles. She would usually come home, bruised and beaten. Feferi would always be willing to patch her up, even though Meenah put herself into danger time and time again - but not without a lecture from her. Meenah never seemed to listen to her, though, going out anyway the next day.

As expected, Feferi’s Hogwarts letter arrived on her birthday. She’s enjoyed her time at Hogwarts so far, and having more freedom than she did back at home. She doesn’t have to try and look after her sister as much as she used to. Hogwarts is fun to Feferi, not only because of the friends she has made, but she really does enjoy learning about magic. How would your character fit in to each House?
Gryffindor: Feferi is brave; even with faced with such difficult challenges from feeding her Lusus to being stuck on the meteor with no real future, Feferi never once backs down or runs away. Though she can be a bit reckless as well, jumping into situations without really thinking them through.

Hufflepuff: Feferi’s loyalty lies not only to Alternia but also to her friends; she never sees herself beyond them, even though in her position she easily can. Feferi is always working hard towards her goals, because being the heiress means that she would have to work hard to be the next in line. Feferi’s kind, selfless and loyal attitude works well with this house.

Ravenclaw: Feferi is smart, but she never really uses it to her full potential because of how reckless she can be at times. Though Feferi can be quite witty, especially with her fintastic fish puns.

Slytherin: Feferi is cunning, and she always makes her own choices. Being the heiress means she needs to be cunning and ambitious to get what she wants, especially with the type of society she lives in. She can also be underhanded, and well, Feferi can sometimes be a bit of a bitch.

Third Person Sample:

Feferi likes to get up early in the morning; it means she gets space from other students and time to think to herself, she also likes to get her morning errors done this way. This morning, she decided that she will head to owlery; her scarf is wrapped around her tight as she walks through the castle to the Owlery, humming the tune of a muggle song that she picked up somewhere.

Ascending the stairs into the Owlery, she notices most of the owls here have returned and are trying to get some sleep from their long night. Feferi likes it here, because she likes how peaceful and quiet it is in the mornings. As Feferi creeps around the owlery trying to find the family’s owl, also trying not to disturb the other owls, though of course, she steps on a floorboard far too hard and makes the loudest creaking noise possible and wakes up the closest owl to Feferi and hoots back at her. “Sorry!!” She whispers back at the owl, not that they could really understand her, but she thinks that in their own way, they would understand.

She eventually does found the family’s owl, nested at the back of the owlery, his tawny owl, getting on in years but his still as faithful and accurate with delivering his mail as ever. Feferi pats his head and gives him treat, and whispers to him. “I’ve got some mail for you to deliver, I hope you don’t mind.” She does not except an answer since he is an owl and all, so while he eats, feferi attaches the letter to grandma and the little gift – she picked it up at Hogsmeade’s trip last week. She makes sure its secure, waits until the tawny has finished eating, then she stretches out her arm to let him hope on.

She walks to front of the owlery with the tawny owl on her arm, still mindful of all the other owls in the around her and whispers to the owl a “good luck!!” She knows the owl is only heading home, but she always wishes good luck, always.

After letting the bird fly away, Feferi skipped all the way back to breakfast knowing today was going to be good day.
